For over 7 years, Helping Hands Therapy has been known throughout south Louisiana as Lafayette’s premier outpatient treatment center for neurological disorders. Orthopedic and Sports Medicine services are also available at Helping Hands Therapy. Our therapists offer one on one client services and work closely with referring physicians to provide the best care to our patients.
Helping Hands Therpay offers three disciplines of therapy: Physical, Occupational and Speech. We can provide all three services under one roof with open communication between each therapist involved. Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a medical profession concerned with the evaluation and treatment of disease, injury and pain by conservative methods such as exercise, stretching, heat, cold and other strategies rather than by drugs and surgery.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy promotes health by enabling people to perform meaningful and purposeful activities. Occupational Therapists work with individuals by utilizing treatments that develop, recover or maintain client’s activities of daily living.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy is the treatment of speech and/or language disorders. Cognitive and swallowing disorders following a stroke or brain injury are treated as well. We examine each patient and develop a treatment plan incorporating techniques used to reduce the disability.
